Jennifer Hudson has been announced to be among the Grammy nominees who’ll sing the songs of Neil Diamond at February’s MusiCares Person of the Year gala. The Grammy week event could mark the first public appearance of the Dreamgirls Oscar winner since the tragic events in late October, when her mother, brother and nephew were killed in Chicago.
Our hearts still go out to her during her transition.

No harsh feelings.” Earlier this year Louis Vuitton won an undisclosed amount after suing Da Brat for showing a Louis Vuitton beach ball in one of her videos and Britney Spears for showing a Vuitton dashboard in one of hers.

We are now approaching the 9 month mark since the disappearance of Chioma Gray, the 16 year old high school student who was kidnapped by Andrew Tafoya from her school in Oxnard California. 9 Months have passed… 9 months… and during that time we’ve heard countless cries and pleas for Stacy Peterson, Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, Madeline McCann, and now, little Caylee Anthony.
I grieve for the families in each of these tragic situations; no family should ever have to endure the grinding despair or enervating uncertainty of a missing loved one. But I have a special place in my heart for Chioma… I am pained by her disappearance and disheartened by the apparent limits of our compassion. Can we all not grieve for her as well? Can we all not share her mother’s burden?
Why is it that CNN, FOX, and MSNBC, the FBI, Nancy Grace, John Walsh, America’s most Wanted, and all of these people and agencies can come together and stake out Drew Peterson’s home, investigate leads for Madeline McCann all the way over in Belgium, track down Ceasar Laurion in rural Mexico, and tape and analyze every conversation Mom Casey Anthony has, and bring in all sorts of equipment to do air sampling within Casey’s trunk, and yet there is no National push to find Chioma? Why?

Phylicia Rashad is the latest actress to be tapped as a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. “Jenny Craig confirms a new relationship with Phylicia Rashad,” says a spokesperson for the company. “We look forward to sharing the details at a press conference in late January.” Rashad, who is best know for her role as the loveable, wise Clair Huxtable on The Cosby Show, joins the ranks of stars such as Queen Latifah, Kirstie Alley and Valerie Bertinelli who have all been spokeswomen for Jenny Craig. Earlier this week, Rashad, 60, was nominated for a Golden Globe for outstanding lead actress in miniseries for her role in Raisin in the Sun.

Jennifer Hudson has cancelled the first video shoot scheduled since the October deaths of her mother, brother and nephew, a source says. The Oscar winner, 27, planned on shooting the clip for “If It Isn’t Love” in L.A. next week, her J Records rep confirmed to the Associated Press Dec. 9. But “the video was set up before the tragedy and she felt like she should finish what she started, but she’s realized that she’s not ready to go back to work,” a source tells Us. “It’s too early,” the source adds. A personal rep for Hudson, however, calls the original video plans “speculation. “The video shoot was never confirmed, so there was nothing to cancel,” the rep tells Usmagazine.com. “[J Records' statement] was erroneous.” Darnell Donerson, 57; brother, Jason, 29, and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, were fatally shot in Chicago Oct. 24. William Balfour — the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister, Julia — was charged with the murders Dec. 2.

According to TMZ, the 10,000-sq. ft. Georgia home of T-Boz (real name: Tionne Watkins) is set to go on the auction block in January 2009, after failing to make her mortgage payments.
Public records indicate that the singer has defaulted on the original principal of her mortgage, which is reportedly around $530,000, and now the state has taken it.

Sources confirm to PEOPLE that Usher and his wife Tameka have a new addition to the family: a baby boy born on Wednesday.
The new Raymond (whose name has not yet been released) joins older brother Usher Raymond V, who turned 1 on Nov. 26. The couple married in 2007. Tameka, 37, also has three sons from a previous relationship.
A source says Usher was at his wife’s side during the delivery. Last month, he told Access Hollywood that his soon-to-arrive baby was “one of the best Christmas gifts there is to have.”
