ALICIA KEYS WILL HOST AN HALLE BERRY EVENT

Alicia Keys is set to perform at the 30th Anniversary Silver Rose Gala and Auction on Sunday, April 18, at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. The theme for this year’s event is “In A Perfect World.”

Chaired by Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry, the event will benefit Jenesse Center families, a nonprofit organization that provides holistic, comprehensive programs to nurture families victimized by domestic violence back to a place of mental, financial, physical and emotional well being.

SANTANIO HOLMES CLAIMS: THE WOMAN WHO IS SUING HIM CALLED HIM THE N-WORD

Pittsburgh Steelers star Santonio Holmes is claiming that the woman who is suing him for allegedly throwing a glass at her face at a club called him the N-word, and that someone else actually hurled the glass full of liquor.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, an off-duty officer working at Club Rain in Orlando on March 7 — the night of the alleged incident — claims he spoke with both Holmes and his accuser Anshonae Mills outside the club and got completely conflicting stories.

COP WHO ARRESTED JOEY PORTER BEING INVESTIGATED

A deputy who arrested NFL star Joey Porter during a traffic stop over the weekend is reportedly being investigated for s under investigation for police brutality.

According to reports, the Arizona Cardinals linebacker was stopped at a Taco Bell in Bakersfield, CA and arrested for allegedly slapping the deputy’s hand away as he tried to unlock Porter’s car door.

JANET JACKSON ADDED TO ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Janet Jackson has been booked as the third and final headliner for the Essence Music Festival this Fourth of July weekend–July 2, 3 and 4–in New Orleans.

The actress-singer will make her festival debut on July 2, according to an announcement today from Essence. The event will also mark Jackson’s first full performance since her 2008 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York.

ERYKAH BADU: “VIDEO CONTROVERSY”

Police in Dallas are reportedly considering whether to charge native daughter Erykah Badu with indecent exposure in the wake of her video for “Window Seat.”

According to local NBC affiliate KXAS, if a witness decides to come forward and complain, Badu can be charged with the misdemeanor – which carries a maximum fine of $4,000 and up to one year in jail.

FLESH N BONE PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO CHARGES FROM HIS MOTHER

Flesh-N-Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony has pleaded not guilty to a 1998 charge in which he was accused of hitting his mother in the side of the head with a gun.

Sheriff’s spokesman John O’Brien says the rapper, born Stanley Howse, was wanted on domestic violence and felonious assault charges. As previously reported, police took him into custody Sunday (March 28) at a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony reunion concert in their hometown of Cleveland.

COURT ORDERED KELIS TO PAY FOR HER OWN WEAVE

A judge in Southern California granted a default judgment against Kelis today in a lawsuit that accused her of failing to pay for her hair weave.

According to the legal documents, the singer got the weave at a salon in Santa Monica, Calif. in May 2009, but never paid the $5,000 for it.

To the completely detached, Robinson is the guy whose performance as a nameless security guard in 2007’s Knocked Up, had audiences howling in laughter, if only for a couple of minutes.

OBAMA IN AFGHANISTAN ON SURPRISE VISIT

*President Barack Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Sunday for a firsthand look at the 8-year-old war he inherited and dramatically escalated.

After an overnight flight from Washington, the president landed in Afghanistan for a stay of just a few hours, all in darkness. He flew by helicopter from Bagram Air Field to the capital, where he was greeted at the presidential palace by Afghan leader Hamid Karzai, given just an hour’s notice of Obama arrival. A military honor guard stood at attention as Obama walked across red carpets.

YALONDA ADAMS JOINS BET’S “SUNDAY BEST”

On Easter Sunday, April 4 at 8 p.m., BET’s gospel singing competition “Sunday Best” premieres its third season with returning host Kirk Franklin and a shakeup in the judging panel.

Joining returning siblings Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary will be new judges Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams, both replacing Bebe Winans, BET announced Monday.

TWO MEN KILLED ON NYC TRAIN

Two men were stabbed to death on a downtown No. 2 train early Sunday, police said.

Police responded to 911 calls just after 5 a.m. At the Varick Street train station in Manhattan.  Upon arrival, they found three people stabbed on the Brooklyn-bound train.

The third victim, identified as a 23-year-old man, suffered stab wounds to the arm and neck and is in stable condition at St. Vincent's.

KANYE WEST WILL APPEAR ON FOX’S “THE CLEVELAND SHOW”

Earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly broke the news that Kanye West will be getting the cartoon treatment on Fox’s The Cleveland Show, currently in its first season.

West shot two episodes for the Family Guy spinoff, the first of which airs May 2. The Chi-town rapper voices the character of Kenny West, a 19-year-old who ends up in a rap battle with Cleveland Brown Jr. over a girl (voiced by Taraji P. Henson).

T.I IS FREE BUT HE HAS RULES TO FOLLOW

T.I.'s weapons charge term is finally over, but there are new rules in the mix for the Atlanta rapper.

According to TMZ, T.I. is now under supervised release for 23 days and has an 11 p.m. curfew— with a 1 a.m. exception given for nights the rapper performs.

He also still has 400 hours of community service to complete. The rapper is coming off his 366 jail term, where he was most previously in a halfway house.

After much media speculation--and a DNA test--TMZ has confirmed that Beyoncé's dad Mathew Knowles is the father of Alexsandra Wright’s baby boy, Nixon.

Wright, an L.A. resident, filed a paternity suit against Knowles last October, alleging that they were in a relationship for 18 months. Rumors of an affair swirled after a photo of her son baring a resemblance to Knowles surfaced on the Net.
