Police Still Can’t get to Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods of the U.S. tees off on the second hole during the ...

Florida troopers who sought to interview golf great Tiger Woods and his wife on Saturday about how his SUV struck a fire hydrant and a neighbor's tree were told by his agent to come back the following day.

Two Florida Highway Patrol vehicles had arrived at Woods' $2.4 million mansion outside Orlando, but the patrol later issued a statement that the interview was postponed to Sunday.

"The Florida Highway Patrol has received information that Tiger Woods and his wife were not available to be interviewed ... as we had previously scheduled," Kim Montes, a sergeant with the FHP's Orlando division, said in a statement.

"This announcement came from his (Woods') agent. Troopers were asked to return tomorrow (Sunday). This is still an ongoing crash investigation."

Woods, 33, the greatest golfer of his generation and one of the world's most recognizable figures, hit a fire hydrant and tree as he pulled his Cadillac Escalade out of the driveway of his house at around 2:25 a.m. EST on Friday, the FHP said. He was taken to the hospital with some injuries, and released.

Making a Comeback After a Bad Relationship

wro.jpg

Rickell Howard as told to S. Tia Brown
I'm embarrassed to say this, but it's the truth: I almost lost it when I broke up with my fiancé. It started five years ago. I was in my second year of law school when I became pregnant with my son, Justin, now 5. His father wasn't exactly "daddy material", so I knew I was destined to be a single mother. It was a harsh and daunting fact, but my reality. Eventually, I transferred to a law in my hometown, so I could be near my family. Then something amazing happened: I reconnected with my high school sweetheart. Obviously, he was salty that I was knocked up, but he wanted to build a relationship. We did.
Seemingly overnight my nightmare morphed into what seemed to be sweet dream. My new man stood by my side as I completed law school, prepared for my state's bar exam and raised my son. After a while we moved in together and things were great. Three years later I got pregnant. I assumed the man who helped me take care of my baby with another guy would be ecstatic about raising his first biological child, but that wasn't the case. He panicked. Things were okay until my maternity leave was up and I had to return to my job; between working, breastfeeding, taking care of the kids, and the house, I was completely exhausted. Instead of being supportive he grew distant and began cheating - to top it off he was sloppy. I confronted my fiancé about his fidelity and he did the unthinkable: He chose her.

Is somebody lying about Tiger Woods’ Accident? The Story isn’t adding up

There are still some questions that the media are waiting to see answered:
1) Where was Tiger going? For some reason, Tiger's team is still not answering. This does not, however, mean that Tiger was on his way to do something irregular.
2) Will charges be filed? If so, what kind? That has not yet been determined by police, but it does remain an open investigation. But again, that doesn't mean that Tiger was doing anything wrong.
3) How serious are the injuries? Reports are conflicting about the severity of the injuries Tiger suffered. The hospital at which he was treated says he is no longer a patient.
4) Why in the world did his wife smash out the back window if Tiger was in the driver's seat? Also, did she just HAPPEN to have a golf club in her hand when she allegedly heard the accident and ran outside? Hmmm, sounds like there may be more to this story than meets the eye.
5) I hate to be the one to say this, but it is quite interesting that Tiger's back window was being smashed by his wife just a day or so after there were reports about him allegedly having an affair. I am not one to go to that place with both feet, but thousands of websites are buzzing about some of Tiger's alleged extracurricular activities.
6) The accident was allegedly not severe enough to deploy Tiger's airbags. This fact leads one to wonder even more why it was necessary to break the back windshield in order to get him out of the car.

Black Kids told to act like slaves in front of their classmates

by Dr. Boyce Watkins

I received a call the today from CNN for an appearance on Headline News with the amazing Richelle Carey. The story happened a couple of weeks ago, but it took me aback and I thought I would quickly share it with the AOL BV family. During a field trip to a former plantation in Charlotte, NC, the tour guide wanted to show the kids what slavery was like. So, he asked the black children to pick cotton while their white classmates stood around and watched. When the CNN producer (a nice woman named Ebony) told me about the story, I had to do a Gary Coleman imitation: "What choo talking bout Ebony?"
Beyond the obvious, this case is disturbing on a multitude of levels. But CNN has asked me to help make this case into a teachable moment. I love finding life lessons in everything, so here are some quick thoughts:

1) The tour guide who did this clearly wasn't thinking: If you want the children to empathize with slavery, why not have them ALL pretend to be slaves? If you have the black children pretending to be slaves and the white kids pretending to be their masters, you are only teaching the white kids to be slave masters and the black kids to be their property.
2) Look at this through the mind of a child: I remember a child in elementary school saying to me, "I wish slavery was still around, because I could then tell you what to do." Those were the same words that Walter Currie's classmate said to him beforespraying him with gasoline and setting him on fire. Those were also the words that one child said to another on the bus ride home from the plantation that day in North Carolina. Do you see a trend here? While we as adults might see the educational value in our remarks, children might see it in an entirely different way.

Michael Jackson Auction Fetches Big Money

Handwritten lyrics to the 1983 hit "Beat It," scribbled on a piece of paper, went for $60,000.

New York (CNN) -- More than 80 Michael Jackson collectibles -- including the late pop star's famous rhinestone-studded glove from a 1983 performance -- were auctioned off Saturday, reaping a total $2 million.

Profits from the auction at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York's Times Square crushed pre-sale expectations of only $120,000 in sales.
