Macy Gray is claiming that prejudice still exists within the music industry, particularly against African American artists who perform outside of the traditional black music genres.
“If you’re black and you don’t do R&B or hip-hop, then you’re going to have a very long haul – there’s only one Lenny Kravitz, one Tracy Chapman,” she The Guardian in an interview to promote her new album “The Sellout.”
