A 9-year old boy in North Carolina was suspended from schoolfor two days for sexual harassment. Emanyea Lockett’s crime was that he told his friend that he thought histeacher was cute.
'I was talking to my friend and I said Miss Taylor wascute,' Emanyea said to local WSOC news.
The boy is adamant that he didn’t say anything else to earnhis punishment.
'That's all I said,' Emanyea said.
A substitute teacher heard the remark from the student, toldthe principal and the principal suspended the boy for two days. Obviously, the boy’s mother is concerned thatthe punishment doesn’t fit “the crime.”
It's not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab herin a sexual way,' mother Chiquita Lockett said.
'Why would he be suspended fortwo days?' she asked.
The boy doesn’t even know what sexual harassment means,adding additional irony to the story. The school’s representative has only said that the suspension related to“inappropriate behavior after making inappropriate statements.”
Maybe they need a few more details to make themselves look alittle less ridiculous.
