Joe Jackson Receives Award for Good Parenting…Interesting

The Rev. Al Sharpton believes the world needs more fathers like Joe Jackson - a man the King of Pop said routinely beat him and his siblings when they were children.

The civil rights leader heaped praise on the dad's parenting skills at the National Action Network in Harlem Saturday.

"The arrogance of [people] attacking a man for being a stern father," Sharpton said. "I wish we had more stern fathers - then we wouldn't be shooting each other up."

Jackson said he was honored to be recognized by Sharpton.

"This feels great," he said. "I feel like I'm someone very special."

Joe Jackson Won't Help Raise Son's Children

 

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Joe Jackson doesn't plan to help raise Michael Jackson's three children.

The Jackson family patriarch lives in Las Vegas and wrote in a statement filed in a Los Angeles court on Monday that he only occasionally visits the family home in the San Fernando Valley, north of downtown Los Angeles.

"I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth," Jackson wrote in the declaration dated July 13. "I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children."

Joe Jackson made an appearance at the BET Awards last night and I must say this all is too suspect for me to handle. Not only was he live in full effect in the first row with Al Sharp ton and a friend he also decided to use the time to pub his new record label that he has coming out... I mean how low can you go Joe, MJ ain't even buried yet before this dude is trying to capitalize off his fame!
