Renowned R&B singer R. Kelly has been released from the hospital following an emergency throat surgery. On yesterday, Kelly’s spokesperson by the name of Allan Mayer released a statement saying that the music artist has departed from Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is now recovering in his home city. The Associated Press reports, “Mayer says it isn’t clear when the Chicago native might be well enough to resume performing.”
Feeling throat pain, Kelly went to the hospital on Tuesday. After being examined, it was determined that emergency throat surgery was necessary to drain an abscess on one of his Grammy-winning tonsils. Now that fans know the 44-year-old musician is well enough to complete his recovery at home, many are now just hoping he will be able to get back in the studio and resume his career.
