On Monday five "Sur-13″ gang members were sentenced to federal prison on charges of carjacking and firearms possession, announced the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The defendants, also known as Sureños-13, began their reign of terror on Dec. 12, 2008 committing crimes across the greater Atlanta area Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton and Gwinnett counties, armed with AK-47s and assorted weapons. Their spree came to an abrupt end following a police chase and subsequent wreck that left one juvenile member dead.
