You can call the president a lot of things, but you can’t call him cheap. The Commander-In-Chief showed up at Ted’s Bulletin, a restaurant in Washington DC, with entourage in tow. The bill was pretty massive, since there were so many Secret Service Agents, assistants, and groupies to compensate (OK, maybe no groupies, but he could have them if he wanted).
The president didn’t order much. He got a cheeseburger, fries and a side salad, along with a glass of water. But when the bill arrived, it was several hundred dollars. The president then slapped down his credit card to pay the bill for everyone there and also left a massive $200 tip.
One patron at the restaurant said, "He couldn't have been nicer."
According to TMZ, the Secret Service made sure the place was safe before allowing the president to pop in. They swept the area with a K-9 unit and closed the restaurant off to the public. Maybe this is why the president eats most of his meals at home.
