Chris Brown Not the Reason Why Beyonce and Jay-Z Did Not Attend BET Awards

Jay Chris

Since Sunday’s BET Awards there have been several speculations about why Beyonce and Jay-Z did not attend the show, and according to BET executive Stephen Hill Chris Brown had nothing to do with it.  Peep what he told All Hip Hop.com below.

They missed the awards, because…we have this conversation almost every year. And, some years we are really fortunate when Jay-Z and Beyonce are in the house and other times, they go on vacation. But I can absolutely say without reservation that there was no conversation at all around, “If Chris Brown’s coming, I’m not coming.” That’s just false.

Gucci Mane Disses Jay-Z

In the aftermath of the travesty known as MTV's “Hottest MC's 2009”, drama looms heavy as one of the South's hottest rappers has thrown down the gauntlet against a living legend.

Gucci Mane LaFlare has is taken off the his kid gloves and has taken aim at none other than Jay-Z, 2009's Hottest MC.

The mixtape artist pulled no punches about his qualms with HOV's position, enshrouding his anger with humor, airing what he feels is a sincere grievance over the move on his most recent public offering, The Burrprint 3.

JAY-Z TALKS ABOUT RHIANNA EXPERIENCE

Jay-Z appears on "The Oprah Winfrey Show"

Here you go again, smelling good," Winfrey joked as Jay-Z walked on the set. The line was in reference to her call with Gayle King where she remarked after meeting the rapper she discovered how good he smelled.

"That's swagger," an audience member chimed in, drawing Jay's laughter.

The pair appeared at ease with each other as the talk-show queen asked the rapper about his drug-dealing past, his marriage to Beyoncé and his relationship with his father, whom Jay-Z had been estranged from before reuniting with him before his death.

They agreed to disagree over issues with the N-word. Jay-Z said people give words power, and as a culture, we can take that away. Winfrey steadfastly disagreed, saying for her generation, the word is loaded with degradation.

BALL PLAYER DOESN’T LIKE JAY-Z

View Image

Clearly Stephon Marbury has no intention of letting his one-sided beef with Jay-Z simmer down. The basketball player, who took issue with a line in Jay-Z's 7-year-old song 'Excuse Me Again,' put together his own rap addressing his fellow Brooklyn-native for the second time in one week.
On the rebuttal track Marbury demands an apology from Jay stating that if he doesn't get one he will "handle" him. The amateur recording skills and even more amateur songwriting skills point to the song being a joke, but Marbury seems surprisingly serious.

OPRAH LIKES JAY-Z

Jay-Z & Oprah

In case you didn't get to see Oprah with Jay-Z yesterday, they have all kinds of clips up on her site from his visit.

It was a very playful, very gracious Oprah in the presence of Hip Hop's royalty. She gave him a chance to explain himself even though they "agreed to disagree forever" on the issue of the "N" word being used in rap lyrics.

JAY-Z SAYS “LIL MAMA IS DISRESPECTFUL”

Jay-Z

Jay-Z says Lil Mama's interruption of his "Empire State of Mind" performance at the MTV Video Music Awards was just as disrespectful as Kanye West's hijack of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.

Speaking to Hot 97's Angie Martinez on Wednesday, Hov said of Lil Mama's actions, “Me personally, I would never do that. I would never have the nerve to do that. We went to rehearsals and went did run through and we worked really hard at the performance to put on a show for people.

JAY-Z AINT SCARED OF 50 CENT

Jay-Z

Jay-Z was so angry at the residents in his apartment building who objected to his who moving there that he deliberately tries to antagonize them as often as possible.

"My neighbors didn't want me in the building, it was a whole big thing, it was really racist. They didn't want me in so I bought the biggest place there," he told BBC radio's Trevor Nelson. "They have a board and voting is based on how much of the property share you have so I have the biggest share and I go down just to vote on things I don't care about just to tick 'em off.

Jay-Z Defends Kanye

West, 32, interrupted Taylor Swift's award speech to tell the crowd her award for best female video should have gone to Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce.

Speaking to Radio 1's Jo Whiley, Jay-Z said West's behavior had been "rude" but added: "He didn't kill anybody".

West has since apologized to Swift, but President Barack Obama called him a "jackass" in an off-the-cuff comment.

Jay-Z did concede the incident had been "inappropriate at the time". But, as West's former mentor, he added: "He's just a super-passionate person".

The 39-year-old, who will support Coldplay at Wembley Stadium this weekend, said: "Of course it was rude because it was her moment but that's the way he really felt.

"I think it was rude but the way they're treating him... He's on the cover of every paper. He didn't kill anybody. No one got harmed."

Jay-Z and Kanye West recently teamed up on Jay-Z's new album The Blueprint 3.

Hmm…I find it strange that Jay-Z is defending Kanye when word on the street is he flipped out after Lil’ Mama jumped on stage during his performance, which was a lot less worse than what Kanye did.

JAY-Z SURPASSES ELVIS

jay-z_side_bow

Based on sales numbers from Nielsen SoundScan, Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3" moved 476,000 copies in the week ending on Sunday (Sept. 13), which gives the rapper his 11th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

The album's No. 1 achievement pushes Jigga ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo act with the second most No. 1 albums in the more-than 50-year history of the Billboard 200. He needs 10 more chart toppers to unseat the Beatles, who hold the record with 19 No. 1s.

Some More VMA Foolishness…Lil’ Mama Crashes Jigga’s Performance

Lil Mama, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys at the 2009 Video Music Awards on Sunday

Jay-Z keeps his cool in even the most awkward situations. On Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, rapper and "America's Best Dance Crew" judge Lil Mama came onstage during Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' performance unannounced and uninvited.

While Jay was ending his final "Empire State of Mind" verse, Mama came up from her seat in the crowd onto the stage and started bobbing her head to the beat. Jay looked surprised but continued to bop to the beat and even kept rapping. Hov patted Mama on the leg to fall back and even threw in a quick joke, saying, "You T-Paining right now," while Keys finished her chorus. The line refers to T-Pain jumping onstage with Jay-Z at Summer Jam during his "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" performance. While Pain said he was asked to get on with the Jiggaman, Jay said in interviews he had no idea the singer was coming out with him.

T-Pain Talks ISH on Jay-Z

By Ronnie Gamble

Despite calling it great and saying it gave him inspiration when it dropped, T-Pain's feelings toward Jay-Z's single, "D.O.A.", seemed to have changed recently.

While at a recent party at the Hard Rock's pool in Las Vegas, otherwise known as Rehab, the auto-tune king dissed Jay-Z while DJ'ing the party.

Maybe he didn't think the track is that great after all.

"Jay-Z is 59 years old. I don't think he has the right to say what's good and what's not," Pain said at the club Rehab while on the mic. "I think if anything is dead, it should be him. ... To any Jay-Z fans out in the crowd, excuse the f*** outta me. But you don't see me saying 'rap is dead,' even though it is. 'Cause apparently all the rappers are trying to do T-Pain."

Jay-Z Bumps Up the Release of his New Album

By Keith Caulfield

Jay-Z will release his much-anticipated album "The Blueprint 3" on Monday, three days ahead of schedule.

The new date was posted on the Web sites of such retailers as Amazon.com, Best Buy and Rhapsody.com. Representatives for the rapper and his Roc Nation label could not be reached for comment.

The contents of the album were recently leaked online, although Jay-Z did not seem to be worried. He will perform at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.

Release dates are seemingly becoming more fluid as the ailing music industry marches toward the all-important holiday shopping season. Just last week saw Miley Cyrus' Wal-Mart exclusive EP "The Time Of Our Lives" scoot forward from an August 31 release to August 28 to tie in with the release of her clothing line. Whitney Houston's comeback album "I Look To You" jumped one day from September 1 to August 31 -- which ultimately triggered a near industry-wide shift for all September 1 albums to August 31.

Mariah Carey's upcoming "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" switched street dates twice, in the other direction, finally settling on a September 29 premiere so that she could record more tunes. Less than two weeks ago, Michael Buble's "Crazy Love" was given an October 13 release date. But days later his Reprise label said it would push the album forward by four days to October 9 due to "unprecedented demand."

OPRAH AND JAY-Z CHOPPING IT UP

oprah jay-z

Oprah visited with Jay-Z earlier in the summer in the Marcy housing project in Brooklyn, and now their chat is out in the new October issue of O magazine, on newsstands Sept. 15. (Click photos to enlarge.) Some highlights:

On dealing drugs at 13:
Jay-Z: "It was natural..."
Winfrey: "Because drug dealers were your role models. There wasn’t a teacher or lawyer or nurse of doctor or and accountant in the neighborhood?"
Jay-Z: "Well, we were living in Marcy by then, so no. And if anyone did become something like that, they moved out. They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That’s why I’ve always said that if I become successful, I’d come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done."
On the use of the N word:
Winfrey: "Do you believe that using the N word is necessary?"
Jay-Z: "Nothing is necessary. It’s just become part of the way we communicate. My generation hasn’t had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren’t so close to the pain. So in our way, we disarmed the word. We took the fire pin out of the grenade."

On marrying Beyonce:
Winfrey: "Can I ask how in the world you kept your wedding a secret?"
Jay-Z: "Late planning!"
Winfrey: "How many people knew?"
Jay-Z: "Very few. The sad part is that we offended some. But people who love you understand. Because at the end of the day, it’s your day."

“Run This Town” Video

rihanna-run-this-town-music-video-031

Apparently this  video is suppose to be some big deal, the reason why I have NO clue.  Maybe because Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West are all in the song, but one thing I do know is that the song is a little annoying and Rihanna screaming in the background doesn’t help.  Anyways, for those of you who actually care to watch the video click here.

Jay Z and Oprah Kick It in the Projects

Oprah and Jay Z

Yup that’s right Jay-Z and Oprah were spotted in Marcy Projects where Jay grew up yesterday.  The two were on their way to Jays grandmother’s house, which will be featured on an upcoming episode of her show.  I usually don’t watch Oprah but I may be tuning in for this episode.

Jay- Z and Beyonce Receive Death Threats

Beyonce and Jay-Z

Leon Desmond Barrett of Detroit has been charged for sending celebrities Beyonce, Jay-Z, and  NFL Hall of Famer Roger Goodell death letters.  Barrett first began sending the letters to Goodell in 2006 and in the most recent letter is when he threatened Jay-Z and Beyonce.  Barrett has been ordered by a judge to not possess guns or other dangerous weapons and to not communicate with his potential victims.

Michelle Williams Celebrates her B-Day

Michelle Williams celebrated her birthday yesterday last night in London.

Her group mate Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z was there to join in the celebration.

Neither one of her Destiny’s Child group mates were able to make the party but I just wanted to post a pic of Kelly Rowland from her concert last night in Las Vegas because she looked absolutely gorgeous.  I think it  is noticeable who my favorite member of DC3 is.

The Game bring Beyonce into the Jay z beef!!!

MediaTakeOut.com just learned that rapper Jay Z and The Game’s feud just got a whole lot deeper. Apparently The Game is now bringing Beyonce into the beef.It all started a few weeks ago, when Jay Z mentioned The Game in one of his Freestyles. Jay said the following:
I ain't talking about profit, I'm talking about painTalking about the city, talking about shameI ain't talkin' about gossip, I ain't talkin' 'bout GameI ain't talkin' about Jimmy, I ain't talkin' about Dame Sounds pretty tame right … well Game ain’t think so. MediaTakeOut.com just learned that The Game dropped the following lyrics at a recent Freestyle in Madrid, Spain
"This ain’t about about Bey, it ain’t no Destiny,I’m in Madrid bangin with C-P-T,You got a bad b*tch word. Ain’t no p*ssy like hers,Just ask the Mavericks, Rockets, and the Spurs. I mean – my b*tch don’t slang p*ssy like that…So F**k Jay Z."

Jay Z's secret Son

Now we can reveal that the fiercely private rapper – who’s worth an estimated $400 million – reportedly has a secret 7-year-old son who he’s amazingly managed to hide from the limelight all this time. The boy apparently bears a striking resemblance to his father and is the result of Jay-Z’s romance with Trinidadian model Shenelle Scott which ended in 2001, before he met Beyoncé.

Jay-Z has gone to great lengths to distance himself from the claims, despite reports that he’s privately admitted paternity. Beyoncé, whom he married in April 2008, is now apparently accepting of the boy and is even said to have gone on holiday with her stepson in the South of France.
