Drake Cancels Overseas Tour

With Drake being one of the hottest rappers out right now it is no surprise that the 23 year old rapper had plans to expand his music across the borders, but this will no longer be happening.  At least not for now.  Read his reason why below.

Despite my best hopes, it is apparent that my mother will need surgery earlier than anticipated," the statement read. "In light of this news, I have made the difficult decision to cancel my European tour in order to support her during her recovery, just as she supported me through the years.

I cannot thank my European fans enough and look forward to performing abroad soon. I ask everyone to please respect my family's privacy during this time.

I am wishing Drake’s mom the best and hope she gets well soon.

Trina’s Big Plans

Slip N' Slide's Diamond Princess is gearing up to take back her crown as the baddest female in the game. The ‘Baddest Bitch' was in Atlanta to make an appearance at the BET Hip-Hop award and to promote her upcoming endeavors. Not only does she have a new album on the way, the princess divulged to HipHopWired exlcusively that she will share her world with her fans through a reality show and give the ladies a chance to emulate her style through a clothing line. 

Unbeknownst to many, Trina's ‘Diamond Girl' clothing was almost shelved completely following disagreements on the direction. The princess claims that designers lost sight of her vision, a line of jeans to fit “curvy, bodacious” women much like herself, forcing her to step in and call for a revision.

“It's a beautiful line, I've worked with so many different designers that I wasn't too pleased with the work, so I put a stop to it and revamped it. So now the jeans are actually to fit curvy, bodacious, beautiful women and they lost that, they lost that factor and I was like, I'm not feeling it. “

Now following the revamping, Trina feels confident that her line for “real” women will be an in-store success.

“To revamp it and start over was a beautiful thing for me. I got to be more hands on and actually go in there and say listen: I want the jeans to fit like this. I want blouses that fit like this. Everybody's body type is not the same and I'm aware of that. I know as a woman, insecurities with your body that you don't want like, so as a woman I wanted to make sure to make a clothing line that could represent women. So if you're not feeling comfortable with your stomach, or your back, or your boobs, you don't' have to worry about it being shown if you don't want it shown. And that's a thing we love about clothing. So that's kind of what I wanted to do. “

Rapper Asher Roth Disses Pres. Obama

Rap newcomer Asher Roth had this to say about President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize:

“Didn't know you could win the peace prize by just talking sh*t...I'm all for "hope" and "progress" but people have been dedicating their lives for peace - actions speak louder than words - my opinion only...@Cpetty281 I disagree, I think change starts at the basement level - change starts with us, the people - were being manipulated Has nothing to do with "Obama" and everything to do with the "Peace Prize" - change starts with us, the people - who's gon wake up first? President Obama described himself as surprised and deeply humbled. So in response to the Norwegian Nobel Committee's it seems people have broken down into 3 camps.

Weezy’s Opinion of the MTV’s “Hottest MCs” List

The infamous list that has the Hip-Hop world up in arms is being brought up again. MTV's top ten list of ‘Hottest MCs' sparked a national outcry when people took notice that a certain Detroit hip-hop artist was looked over. As previously reported, Jay-Z was honored as the #1 hottest MC in the game and gladly accepted his title. While penning a letter of thanks to MTV however he had a “Kanye” moment as he called it and asked the number one question ringing in people's ears, “What happened to Eminem?” The list did seem to be somewhat accurate minus the omission putting Ye as #4, Drake as #3, and the other Mr. Carter, Lil Wayne at #2.

The second best MC recently caught up with British radio show host, Tim Westwood while on the road. Following a performance where he injured his lip with a microphone, he sat down with the show host and chopped it up about his tattoos and eventually MTV's notorious list. When asked if he thought his ranking as #2 was a typo, he replied:

"Who was number 1? Jay-Z? No,that's cool…."

Rumor Alert: Jadakiss’s Home is Raided

According to MediaTakeOut.com rapper Jadakiss’s New York home was raided by the police, and several pounds of drugs were found.  Supposedly the police seized five grams of heroin, more than six pounds of marijuana, and more than $40,000.  Hmm…Looks like Jadakiss may have some explaining to do!!!

G-Unit Employee Due In Court For Assault Charge

An employee of 50 Cent's G-Unit empire is due in court today for his second assault charge in three months. 27-year old Dwayne Mckenzie is facing criminal charges for attacking an unidentified woman and holding her down so another woman could beat her.

Closing Argunments for C-Murder’s Trial Are Set

Attorneys are set to deliver closing arguments in the murder trial of Corey Miller, better known as the rapper "C-Murder."

Miller is accused of shooting a 16-year-old fan during a brawl in a nightclub. He has been charged with second-degree murder.

The 38-year-old Miller would face a mandatory life term if convicted of the Jan. 12, 2002, killing of Steve Thomas at the Platinum Club in Harvey. The club has since closed.

Miller's first trial ended with a conviction on Sept. 30, 2003, but state District Judge Martha Sassone ruled that prosecutors had improperly withheld criminal background information about three key witnesses. The Louisiana Supreme Court upheld her ruling.

Wu Tang Clan and Joe Budden’s Beef Gets Physical

Members of the Wu Tang Clan have been beefin’ with Joe Budden ever since Joe claimed that he is a better rapper than Wu Tang member Method Man, but recently things went a little too far.  While Joe was recording his online show this weekend Raekwon, who is also a member of Wu Tang, confronted him which lead to Joe getting jumped by other members of the rap group.  As if all of this wasn’t bad enough the fight was recorded and they made Joe apologize.  Click here to watch Joe speak about the incident.

Method Man Accused of Shooting a Fan

A fan of Method Man is suing the rapper for supposedly shooting her with a air gun back in 2008.  The fan Mary Anderson claims that  she approached Method Man after his show asking for an autograph and he then pulled out a air gun and began shooting her with the pellets.  HMM…Something isn’t making sense, I am convinced that a lot of the details are missing.

LiL Wayne is Going to be "Partying Like a Rockstar"...Literally

Seems that everyones favorite rapper may just become everyones favorite rocker. Canadian rapper Drake revealed that Lil' Wayne is set to release a rap album and he is featured on one of the songs. Drake compared Wayne's attempt at rocking to that of Kanye's attempt of singing on 808s and Heartbreaks, which will throw “individuals off”. I don't know if Kanye was the best comparison to use because judging by his SNL performance Wayne might just wanna stick with rapping.
