“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…” I remember standing near my desk, in elementary, with my right hand on my chest reciting these words like I can recite the ABC’s or Humpty Dumpty rhyme. Little did I know then, American ideals, like freedom of choice or speech, are so precious that many people are willing to fight for a little piece of the freedom pie. That desire is what prompted the Egyptian Revolution.
Unfortunately, accessing freedom has never been a pretty process. Particularly, women have paid a big price.
