Internet rumors of the death of rapper Kanye West sparked a scam involving a malicious link on a Google search results page this morning.
As the rumor spread, searches for Kanye West shot to the top of Google.
One of the links being served to frantic searchers was serving a virus, according to SC Magazine, a publication for IT security professionals.
"Just because something didn't happen, doesn't mean it won't be abused for criminal purposes, be careful where you click," security adviser Rik Ferguson told the magazine.
